February 25th / Hefei, Anhui Province / Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design - one of ACEG’s subsidiaries, also the only comprehensive scientific research unit in the Province that integrates architectural scientific research, building design, urban and rural planning, engineering testing, project supervision and consulting, project management, special reinforcement for buildings, construction drawing review, academic journal publication, held its first Science and Technology Progress Award review meeting on which an evaluation panel consists of 7 experts has been set up, Mr. Xiang Bingquan, Director of the Academic Committee of Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design, was appointed as the head of the panel and Mr. Chen Gang, Director of ACEG Chief Engineer Office is one of the 7 experts, the meeting was presided over by Mr. Guo Yang, Vice President of Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design.
Filing and applications collection works for the first Science and Technology Progress Award of Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design were officially launched on November 15, 2021. The Panel has received a total of 58 applications with contents cover a wide range of sectors including foundation engineering, building energy efficiency, new building materials, building structures, urban planning and others up to now. At the meeting, the details of the award applications, evaluation methods and the preliminary evaluation were announced and the evaluations will undergo primary and secondary reviews respectively and then the Panel will put forward its evaluation opinions and finally all members of the Panel will take a vote.
Mr. Chen Gang gave his recognition to Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design for the work of the Science and Technology Progress Award, he pointed out that the Award has improved the scientific research incentive mechanism of Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design and stimulated the enthusiasm of its employees for the scientific and technological innovations. He urged that the science and technology reward work should be combined with the development directions of the construction industry, trying to keep up with the cutting-edge technology and standards and promote ACEG’s science and technology innovation works to a new and higher level.
Mr. Xiang Bingquan pointed out in his concluding remarks that the following tasks should be done well：first，to take this event as an opportunity and make good use of the existing scientific research platform and talent advantages to improve the award reviewing process and boost sci-tech innovation; second, to further strengthen the scientific and technological innovation works and encourage innovation and creativity, improve the quality of scientific research and enhance ACEG’s core competitiveness; third, constantly improve the level of scientific and technological achievements, promote the transformation of scientific and technological achievements and provide a strong guarantee for the transformation and development of Anhui Institute of Architectural Research and Design’s Strategy of Industry 4.0.
